This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers the last portion of essential basic grammar that is commonly taught in EFL, which is modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modal auxiliary verbs are used before other verbs to add meaning to the main verb. They can also be used to express differing degrees of formality. Modal verbs don't change in form according to person and they are followed by a verb in its base form.
In the passive voice, the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive verb. Both active and passive sentences can have basically the same meaning, but the focus id different. in the active voice, the focus is on the agent. In the passive voice, the focus is on the subject. The passive is most frequently used when it is now know, not important, or we don't want to say, exactly who performs an action.
