This unit talked about teaching materials, their advantages and disadvantages. It also covered the use of authentic and created materials and their advantages and disadvantages. For me, if I am working within a program it sounds the best approach is to follow the program as the students will be buying the materials. Then review the materials in light of the students in the class, their level and interests and omit, replace, supplement or adapt the materials accordingly. This goes with the idea it is people we are working with and they all have different interests and ideas so we need to adapt accordingly.
