This unit looked at modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice.
Modal auxiliary verbs are used to add meaning to the main verb (ex : obligation, possibility, probability, permission, ability, advice).
In the passive, the subject receives the action expressed by the verb (ex : the wallpaper was chose by my wife).
There are three relative clauses. An independent clause is a complete sentence. A dependent clause is not a complete sentence, it has to be connected to an independent clause. A relative clause is a dependent clause that modifies a noun.
Phrasal verbs is made from a verb and a particle (or two particles).
