This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is one I was both exited to learn and also mildly dreaded. Proper pronunciation is something I think is really important to learn. Yet despite taking a speech class as a child I could not recall anything about how to explain proper pronunciation to another person let alone teach it. In this unit we covered Intonation (the variation and pitch of a sentence), Stress (word/s of emphasis in a sentence), Phonemic symbols (International phonemic alphabet), Articulation (the act of speaking) and some suggestions on how to teach all of it. Such as, using models of the mouth for individual sounds, tongue twisters, peer dictation, phonemes, etc.
