In Unit 5 I learned some of the most common techniques and factors to consider with regard to managing a classroom. For example, the size, level and culture of your students all effect how you want to arrange the seating and environment of the classroom. I also learned that whether you are sitting or standing during a particular activity can have a huge effect on the overall feel of control or relaxed vibe in tent class. If you need to assert more order and obedience in class then standing and even walking around the class will allow you to achieve this. In addition, i learned that a certain amount of teacher talk time is good and expected but to optimize learning it should be kept to a minimu, especially during certain phases of instruction such as the activate stage. Contrarily, it is virtually unavoidable not to speak at all when giving instructions for a class activity.
