This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit offered a deeper insight in the productive skills, speaking and writing. Both are communicating skills, and when students are being taught such skills, the teacher should always keep in mind why people use communicative skills: because of a communicative purpose exists, someone wants to say or listen to something, and/or what is being said is in the interest from someone. Such factors will encourage students to complete communicative activities. Also, when students learn communicative skills, the teacher needs to focus on either accuracy or fluency. However, both are equally important. When the focus is on accuracy, it is more important that the language being used is correct, whereas fluency exercises encourage students to use English to express them freely and the accuracy is not as important during a fluency exercise.
