This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit has looked at the teaching of productive skills, which are speaking and writing. The unit covers different activities with regards to encouraging speaking skills, particularly looking at the differences between accuracy and fluency. This has made me think about different activities I can use, games I already know which can be adapted for language learning, and for which part of an ESA lesson they are appropriate. When looking at writing skills, I found it especially useful to think about the additional problems such as handwriting and punctuation, and have been able to think of ideas to overcome these potential problems. It has also been interesting to consider how to generate interest in topics, and how to really encourage student interaction.
