Lesson materials can be divided into two groups; authentic and created materials. Authentic materials are not designed for the EFL student hence are not aimed at the level of the student. This notwithstanding, it is more interesting, motivating and gives the student a boost in confidence should it be understood. Created materials on the other hand are designed by the teacher with the student in mind, to replace or supplement material from a course book. Course books should be chosen based on how suitable they are to the student group and should be the sole reference. New ideas and activities should be implemented to make the class unpredictable and fun.
