This unit is about teaching special groups. When teaching beginners, it is important to be as visual as possible. Instructions should be simple and clear, and revision should be done on a regular basis. When teaching individuals, activities such as short stories, and goal oriented activities can be used. I have learnt that the attention span of children is far less than an adult and adults are more motivated to leasrn a new language. In teaching business English, a needs analysis needs to be done to highlight the area of English they want most practice in and the areas they are weak in. When teaching a multilingual class, the main advantage is that the students have no common language but English.
