This unit focuses on the importance of receptive skills, i.e; listening and reading. It teaches the concepts behind how and why we read and listen, and how to effectively instill these concepts in the students' mind. It aims to incorporate more than just the eyes and ears of the student, to critically evaluate the meaning of words and sentences based on their circumstance, rather than the literal definition of a word or sentence, which is vital to achieving fluency in another language, especially English where words can often have very different meanings based on circumstance, which can be confusing.
