Unit7 is about how to teach new language. There are three main parts: teaching vocabulary, teaching grammar and teaching language functions.
Teaching vocabulary is a vital part of any English language course. Students have to know: What it means; The form; How it is pronounced;How it is spelt; If it follows any unpredictable grammatical patterns; The connotations that the item may have;The situations when the word is or is not used: is it formal/neutral/informal?;How the word is related to others.
Teaching grammatical structures: students have to know meaning, how to use the structure, forms and patterns, spoken and written forms.
Teaching language functions include areas such as inviting,refusing, agreeing, suggesting.
Also I've learned techniques for vocabulary, grammar and structures teaching.
