This unit went over the complexities of speech pronunciation and phonology. What I never thought about before this is how naturally we use intonation all of the time to elect responses or state facts, but we do not really think about it. But we also all can ready script or an article and put our own intonations patterns as a voice in our head and it can very well change the meaning of whats being said. It is important to learn correct pronunciation early on as a language learner, it will help the flow of the language overall as you learn. The phonology part is a little difficult to learn, but once you understand how to make sense of the pronunciation with each symbol, it can be a good way for students to learn how to pronounce without having someone there to physically say the words. The science behind the production of speech was also very interesting.
