This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers the classroom management. This means everything from seating arrangements to establishing rapport. In this, we find out how the teacher's actions can contribute to the students' learning, interest, and behaviour. It's interesting, as normally when trying to control a class we believe that there should be a clear and strict control over all students. Here, we see that while there should be control, we cannot overexert it. The use of body language, eye contact, and voice gives us the exact amount of control needed. The part about establishing rapport is extremely useful, as sometimes, teachers can go overboard in being overly friendly, or the exact opposite: not friendly enough.
