This focused on teaching more specialised groups of students rather than teaching groups of adults. This is an area of teaching where I have had a lot of practice and experience with; at the moment I currently teach groups of young beginners in a monolingual classroom environment (Mandarin is their respective mother tongue) and also I have taught 1-on-1 individual classes with both young beginners and adult beginners. However, I found this unit significantly interesting regarding the Business English and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) section. This is an area of ESL teaching I have had very little experience with and the information provided here in this unit booklet, for example the use of a Needs Analysis questionnaire and planning the course well in-advance, are all aspects I can introduce in the future, in potential ESP classes, if the need arises.
