This unit talks about course books and how they should be used/supplemented. This was another area that seemed outdated to me (casettes?), but I know that textbooks are still a vital part of day to day classroom operations. It also seemed to be repeating a lot of information, such as authentic and created materials. I don't think I'll have much of a choice about what textbook I use, but it is useful to think about what kinds of activities I might use from it as well as additional activities I create myself or find online, etc. I do wish this unit had more advice for online resources with games/activities, etc, but I am already searching for these on my own and finding them without too much trouble.
