Unit 13 covers pronunciation and phonology. It deals with the areas of intonation, stress, rhythm, articulation, phonetic alphabet and the symbols used to help students with the pronunciation of English. There are also techniques that will guide us in teaching intonations, stress, pronunciation of individual sounds as well as ideas when to teach pronunciation. This unit is very informative. The material and the video explain well the science behind each consonant sound; the manner and place of articulation. It is important to have not only the knowledge of the phonetic symbols and their proper pronunciation but to have a better understanding of intonation and word stress which refers to the ?music? of the English language.
