This unit covered the 4 present tenses, describing their form, their usage, and the common mistakes made with these tenses. Additionally discussed were the teaching strategies used to help learners master this aspect of the language. As a native English speaker and therefore having naturally absorbed the usage of tenses, I found great value in the articulation of the rules by which the appropriate tense is applied (for example, seemingly basic rules, such as when to use \"for\" and \"since\" with the present perfect tense - a rule that was never explicitly instructed to me but would clearly be useful to English language learners. And, as with other units, I learned a great deal from the suggested activities to enhance student engagement and foster student success.
