This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit explains common problems in teaching ESL classes and provides solutions and suggestions. The problems include first lessons, different levels, large classes, use of students' native language, reluctant students and difficulties with listening, etc. I believe that the use of native language at ESL classes will have negative effects on developing thinking in English, which is an essential part of achieving English speaking fluency. Thinking in English will also improve the students' reading, listening and writing skills dramatically. I think that the ways to help the students avoid using native language include explaining the importance and also having them to make changes gradually and slowly.
