Unit 17 defined teaching equipment and classroom aids. This unit described teaching equipment as the tools, technology, and media used to assist in executing lesson plans. Several examples of teaching equipment are: whiteboard, interactive whiteboard, and overhead projector. Unit 17 listed visual aids as being real objects, picture and photos that are used to illustrate meaning so that students get a different form of study besides verbal explanation. I learned that when presenting videos to the class it is important to plan an accompanying study session or activity/worksheet so the students know to be attentive and use what they are watching to improve their knowledge. If the videos are carried out without structure they would be a distraction to the lesson's focus. In summary, it is evident that unit 17 sufficiently covers the types of teaching aids, accessories and how they are used to boost student involvement and progress.
