This unit has been a bit challenging for me, as I have never really learned the phonetic alphabet, so its been really great to go over that. Here where I teach in Indonesia pronunciation is something that is really very important to teach and often over looked. I have so far only had experience teaching speakers of Indonesian the English language, I know there are different aspects that need to be worked on in different manners depending on who you teach.This unit covered types of examinations or tests given to foreign language speaking students. These typically fall into the categories of placement/entrance exams, progress tests, and external/formal exams. The unit also covered more specific tests given to students, such as TOFEL, and Cambridge University tests. And finally, this unit covered the three ways to assess a student's language level--by tutorials, by evaluation by the students, and by tests.
