In this unit I learnt about speaking and writing skills. A teacher must create interest, need and desire in the students to communicate. Accuracy and Fluency play very important in improving speaking skills. Both of them are equally important. Various speaking activities that can be done in the classroom are- controlled, guided activities, creative communication. Teachers must encourage students to speak by pair work, group work, careful planning, changing the classroom dynamics etc. Similarly writing skills must also be emphasized on.I learned the different types of testing required to incorporate a student into the correct learning environment. All these tests that a student takes prior to embarking into the class can effect their learning curve as well ass their progress. Setting students up for positive reinforcement and small tutorials can be beneficial to them retaining the information taught in their lessons. The notion of having students review the course is wise due to the fact that the teacher may not be addressing all of the students needs appropriately.
