After reading several times the unit, I think that I have improved my knowledge about planning lessons. As an Elementary Teacher in Spain, we are instructed while studying our career about the importance of our organization. It means that as the unit explains we need to prepare our classes in order to create a good and rich environment for our students, however, I never heard about the Straight Arrow ESA before. Therefore, I consider pretty interesting to use theses phases to teach not only a foreign language but also the native one.Writing seems to be an area that TEFL teachers need to spend more time on. Obviously if writing is never practiced in the classroom where the teacher can help out and give feedback, students are always going to struggle with and neglect writing in English. There are many rules about writing in English that go way beyond just being able to speak it, so obviously it is important for students to learn. That being said, speaking English is likely much more useful and important for most of these students than being able to write in English.
