This final unit was very helpful and insightful for myself as someone who wants to teach ESL but has not done so yet. An overview of common problems is nice to have on hand as a guide for possible solutions to such issues as how to teach reluctant students, should the teacher use the students' native language if they know it, how to deal with small vs. large groups of students, and much more. Being prepared and patient seem to be the crux of this chapter.This unit provides rationale and explanation for the different categories of past tense. Past simple is usually used to described something that has already happened. Past Perfect is often used to describe something that happened in the past after another thing that had happened in the past. For example used \"had arrived\" is Past Perfect. Past continuous or imperfect tense are verbs that were continuing at a specified time in the past eg \"was ...ing\".
