In this introductory unit are listed all the different aspects of this course for Teaching Business English. There are brief descriptions of what this course will encompass and a glossary of some important acronyms from the TEFL universe. I particularly found interesting the brief description of the pre-requisites for an English for Specific Purposes teacher, who doesn't need to have a deep expertise on the specific business field. On the other hand their English knowledge has to be broad enough to cover that field as well as any other.This unit actually ended up being a bit more difficult than I expected. It wasn't really the information that was hard to grasp but rather being able to differentiate between the different volumes and pitches in a sentence when looking at intonations. It definitely made me realize the difficulty students must have when learning about intonations and stresses in a sentence. The techniques shown here are very helpful. I really loved the idea of using \"nonsense words\" to get students used to speaking with different attitudes/expressions.
