This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit contains information regarding the four present tenses. These include the present simple tense, the present continuous tense, the present perfect tense, and the present perfect continuous tense. Each of these tenses has different grammatical forms and usages which I learned throughout the unit. Additionally, many examples of activities were given that could be used to teach each specific from to the students. I learned how to differentiate each form in an affirmative statement, a negative statement, and a question form as well. This unit was broken into two parts: conditionals and reported speech. It was interesting to learn that there were so many conditionals (0-3 and mixed) as well as the different meanings and subtleties between them such as between 1 and 2 with the degree of certainty of what will happen next. It was also interesting learning the basic mechanics of reported speech and what potential problems could arise for my students given all the changes in tenses which will help me in the future when I am trying to help them to understand the basics.
