Evaluation and Testing is a very important tool for an instructor to monitor a students progress in the classroom. There are several ways to evaluate students progress which include tutorials, evaluations by the students, and good old tests! There are several tests that make up the journey of the course: placement, progress, diagnostic, and practice. The external tests will not be given by an instructor but by an outside association to make sure the student has learned everything they need to be certified in English as a second language.This lesson was pretty lengthy and could have probably been taught better. It does drive the point home that using the phonetic spelling for words would be confusing to non English speakers as it was terribly difficult for me as an English speaker with the limited resources provided. However having been around non English speakers its very clear that the way in which one must form their mouth to form words has everything to do with how they speak the words, their native language may make pronouncing certain English sounds very difficult.
