Tense, which makes English different from some other languages, is of great significance in English learning. This unit mainly deals with present tenses in English learning, including present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. Although learning tense can be summarized as several formulas, it is abosulutely dull to ask students to memorize some gramma formulas and rules in ESL teaching. Instead, a time axis can be used to distinguish this tense from another, which is more visualizable and concrete.This chapter is definitely challenging because the different present tenses being taught in this chapter can be confusing even as someone who has been brought up speaking english. to me i never though about how i have been forming sentences, and through this chapter it has made me more aware about how present tense sentences are being formed. i think this chapter would also make it easier to teach english because it gives a \"formula\" on how one can form a proper sentence which can help as a foundation for those who are learning english
