In this unit I read about preparing a lesson. How important it is, especially for inexperienced teachers, to have a lesson plan to refer to during the lesson. A lesson plan is also a good way to keep track of what the class has gone through. Also in the case that you get sick the teacher that fills in for you will have something to work with.
If you want to improve your teaching it is also recommended that you write a lesson review and write down what went well and what can be improved.The use of video lessons in teaching effective and ineffective teaching is very important to the beginning teacher. By showing good and bad practices, new teachers can model after both. One would model the less than good teacher and find areas to analyze. New teachers would also model the good lesson in the same way. Even though one should never copy another teacher, observing other teaching ways is important. The more one views another model teacher the more that new teacher will learn.
