This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 4 gives an overview of the tense system and I have learned that in the English language, there are three different times i.e., the past, the present and the future, and these relate to the tense system. Each of the different times consists of the following aspects, present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. I learned the various forms, usages, typical student errors and how to activate stage teaching ideas for each aspect. The unit provides us with a brief information about conditionals and reported speech. I think students find these two issues much more difficult than tenses. I remember from my own experience, that it is so much easier to do exercises on paper than using the conditionals and reported speech while speaking English. We talk about our experiences in different tenses more often than about hypothetical situations, that's why it might be more difficult to use them accurately.
