This unit discussed the use of course books and lesson materials. The two types of materials are authentic and created materials. The unit has presented why there is a need to use these types, when and how to use them. The advantages and disadvantages of using coursebooks and all other surrounding circumstances in the use of it were explained. It is very useful that there were also examples of created materials the teachers could use in the class.This unit centered around planning the appropriate vocabulary, grammar structures, and language functions for a lesson. It discusses how to choose the appropriate vocabulary, based on appropriacy to the students etc. The unit also covers example techniques for a vocabulary lesson, a grammar structure lesson, and a language function lesson. These example techniques and lessons help to show the type of lesson that would be suitable in each scenario.
