This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit we learned about teaching materials (authentic and non-authentic) as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Then we learned about different ways that we can create a lesson plan , what to expect, what we should aim for and some difficulties that we might face. We were introduced to some webliography materials and in addition we learned how to use the internet as a source material plus we were informed about the existence of English textbooks targeted to business English. This unit taught me about the many options teachers have when it comes to teaching aids. I think that it is important to know what resources are out there for teachers to use so that we can continuously build new teaching methods. It is not only important for us to develop new and interesting ways for students to learn but it is important to stay up to date on teaching aid that are available to us. I think the most interesting teaching aid that I had not thought about was video recorders!
