This unit is about the four groups of past tense. It identifies the forms, usage and teaching ideas of each group. Similar with unit 4, I had difficulty understanding the various usage though at the same time I understand what they are trying to say by looking at the sample sentences. I struggled putting into words in the task sheet on how to explain the different groups. I have to start with providing sample sentences then work my way up to explanation. Again, i understand but find it hard to put into words that will make the students understand (self reflection).From this unit I learned about how to deal with a class of students at varying levels. It is possible that all students wont be at the same level of English, and there are ways of dealing with this dilemma. If there are varying levels present in your class, the teacher should not neglect one group in favor of the other. The lesson should be modifying so as to accommodate all students. When dealing with a large class it is important to be mindful of the size and modify lesson to best suit all students needs. So if I had a large class I would use group and pair work.
