Watching the two videos was highly informative and an excellent way to observe not just a well thought out lesson but also the effect a teacher's demeanor can have on a class. The first lesson was incredibly boring, from the way the teacher approached the subject, to how he carried himself, and with how he treated his students. It felt like zero time had been put into the lesson. The second lesson was noticeably much improved. Just from a change in the teacher's energy level, the classroom became more pleasant and relaxed and students were more willing to speak up.This lesson was the most comprehensive and informative unit to date and I had very little to no exposure to most of the later parts of the lesson involving phonemes, phonetic script, and the nuts and bolts of stressed syllables and intonation patterns. The lesson started by saying this crucial aspect of learning English is often not taught in great confidence by most foreign teacher and beginning TEFL teachers but with all the information I just went over, this will be a lesson that truly gives a foreign class the chance to get deep into properly speaking English.
