This unit proved to be very useful. The first video lesson was definitely to show us what not to do in teaching English abroad. He was very discouraging to begin with, and kept telling the students how easy the lesson was. This makes students feel very intimidated and scared to speak up which is contrary to what ITTT tries to teach to those being certified. In the second video, there was a lot of enthusiasm, high energy and smiling. Student talk time and teacher talk time is much more balanced in this lesson, as students were put into pairs and able to come up with ideas together.This unit gives an overview over the course content. It explains how the course works and the aims and objectives. It also gives an overview over the general terminology in the context of teaching business English. The gives an introduction on business English and gives examples of specific purposes and job fields and explains prospects and different teaching settings of teaching business English. Outstanding to me was the idea to see the English language as a medium through that the students are able to use their knowledge. As a teacher I give them the skills to uses this medium.
