In this lesson, I learned how to write a lesson plan, which is of great value for teachers who like me do not have a lot of experience. I learned about the balance between rigidity and flexibility in planning lessons, and that while being prepared is important, it is most important to be prepared in a way that allows for changes to happen during the lesson. I also learned about the importance of planning sequences of lessons in the correct way. Sequences of lessons must also be flexible, but in the long run need to have broad goals, with reviews on the way to make sure that all the students retain the information that they are taught. This takes a little more thought than simply planning one lesson, and is something that I personally need to study more to ensure my classes are effective in moving the class forward.
