This unit introduced me to a new idea of thinking when teaching Vocabulary and Grammar. I learned that there are four things that students need when it comes to new language and it is to be exposed to it, practice and produce it and understand how it is constructed and what it means. I now also know that vocabulary and grammar should be taught differently by using variety of methods. I now know that it important for students to know how vocabulary interacts and affects other words and where it belongs as is the meaning, uses, spelling and the pronunciation of vocabulary. When it comes to grammar it is important that the students know the meaning, forms, patterns, uses and the spoken and written forms it can take on. An example of this is something written like going to can sound like “gonna†when spoken.
