I have learnt what stress and intonation are and which techniques for indicating and teaching intonation exist. The phonemic alphabet was explained thoroughly in this unit and therefore it refreshed my existing knowledge on phonemic symbols. Additionally I have learnt where, how and in which manner sound is articulated in the mouth. The teaching of articulation can be included in a lesson when required or it can be slotted into a lesson. Another option is to dedicate a whole lesson to proper articulation.Unit 2 was an introduction to grammar and parts of speech. The basics of the English language were taught. The parts of grammar taught were nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, prepositions, and pronouns. The order in which you place some of these parts of grammar was also mentioned. The part that I learned was about gerunds. Gerunds are the -ing form of a verb and used as a noun. An example sentence would be \"Smoking is bad for your health.\" In this sentence the word smoking is the gerund.
