The Unit 12 present the teaching of productive skills: speaking and writing. Both skills play a major role for young learners, during the process of learning a second language. However, an important point made in this unit is how often professors neglect the teaching of writing skills which is an unfortunate truth. Writing should be equally taught in class in order to create, not only good English speaker but also excellent writers of the English Language.This unit contains more practical instructions on how to teach vocabulary, grammar structures and language functions by applying the Engage Study Activate method. It is important not to focus on just one aspect and try to evenly distribute the teachings of grammar structures, vocabulary and language functions. In fact, it would be ideal to give students an idea of how vocabulary, language structures and grammar actually are interconnected and work together.
