This unit was mainly focused on teachers and learners and their traits and roles in the classroom. I have learned that a teacher should be able to play different roles in the classroom under different circumstances, but that the focus should always be on the students and their needs, their responses and their learning. A student's age, language level, willingness to participate and desire to study, must all be taken into consideration by the teacher when he/she decides which role to play with that student. Some students may need more encouragement (the teacher must be the prompter then), while others might need more guidance (in which case the teacher will act as a tutor). To be a teacher, it is clear to me that you must put the students and their needs above your own in order for them to reach their full potential.
