In this unit, I learned how to use different teaching aids to create an interesting and effective lesson. I am most excited to use visual aids such as pictures and photos in the classroom. I think that using visual aids can reach students more quickly and effectively as the text explains and it also brings in context from outside the classroom to the things that students are learning. I also thought that the use of video cameras was very interesting , particularly to help students record themselves and play it back for analysis and discussion. I also think that this method will easier to use as more smartphones have video recording capabilities now. I am also excited to hopefully use videos and dvds because I was a communication major and i feel that media is a powerful teaching tool and can be entertaining as well.
