This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned a lot in this lesson, as I knew nothing about any of the different teaching theories and methodologies beforehand. I enjoyed how well they were explained, and I loved all of the examples given for each phase of a lesson, engage, study, and activate. All of the suggestions for engage activities were very helpful and I will likely refer back to this list when I begin teaching. I liked learning about the straight arrow ESA lesson plan and also about how the order can be switched up. I liked learning about correction, and that it is more appropriate in some situations than others. It was interesting to me to learn that teacher correction should be a last resort after self correction and peer correction. I also never learned the difference between a mistake and an error, but now I know how the two are different.
