This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Receptive skills being the main focus of the chapter breaking it down to the importance of listening and reading. Using reasoning of how we use these skills such as how we read, how our minds take in information and good descriptions on the various methods of reading such as predictive, scanning, skimming, detailed information and deductive context. One doesn't realize as myself that in fact we does this every day not thinking of the particular skill we are using but how our brain does it automatically. So as in the introduction of the lesson states our minds really do this subconsciously as we read and listen. This was an interesting chapter and again the practice of doing lesson plan only strengthens,(my weakness into becoming more comfortable with these. Repetition is paying off on these lesson planning scenarios.
