This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 12 was about teaching productive skills. The two kinds of production in language is speaking and writing. Both are necessary and should have equal standing in a classroom. Accuracy activities focus on producing the correct language and are often done during the study phase. Fluency activities generally are done with the activate phase and there is more room for the students to be creative and try to make their speech flow naturally. For writing, handwriting may need to be more enforced with some classes if the students are unfamiliar with forming the letters. Spelling is also important but with these don't forget to include creative writing for a fluency activity. Speaking can sometimes be harder to implement if the students are unwilling to speak up. Therefore, activities with small groups are helpful for this.
