This unit covered the teaching of different kinds of groups, from teaching a class with zero English knowledge to teaching Business English one-on-one. Each group has their own different requirements. It is important to keep the material and activities relevant to whatever level you are teaching. The dynamics of a classroom will also be very different from just teaching one-on-one. Where possible, the teacher should create a comfortable learning environment, which can be done with the help of posters and other decorations. There are also different advantages and disadvantages to teaching classes of a single culture versus those with mixed cultures. No matter the type of class however, the teacher should always use and encourage the use of English, and not be tempted to use the students' mother-tongue when instructing.
