This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was enlightening to think more about how I might pick specific objectives or topics to cover in one lesson. It is hard to think about how to begin to break up something as big as a language into bite sized pieces that you can go over just one thing in one lesson. I liked that this helped me to see how to do that. I might have a lesson on vocabulary around a topic first. Then have a lesson about how to use those words into a grammatical structure. Or maybe have a lesson using those vocab words around a function like ordering from a restaurant. It was a great exercise to think about breaking things up into a lesson sized piece and then think about the specific ESA activities involved to flesh out what would be a typical lesson. And on top of that to think about stacking lessons together to create a curriculum.
