This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was about the different ways of testing your students, how to find out what language level they are on and I learned about some different external exams. There's a few ways of testing students but what they all have in common is that they're trying to figure out what level the students are on. What the strengths and weaknesses of the students are and to see what they remember and what items still need some work. External exams on the other hand are a bit more serious. They are usually a requirement for certain jobs or universities.
I think it's important to test students and to have something to show either the parents or the school. But what I think is even more important is the students' overall growth, which you as a teacher can see during lessons, and activities. Because a test is just a moment in time.
