In this lesson a synthetic but exhaustive overview of the receptive skills in given. After an initial statement of the importance of taking care of the 4 skills involved in learning a language a detailed presentation of listening and reading follows. I have learned the there are several types of listening and speaking (for pleasure, for a specific purpose...) and several types of techniques to be applied in class when teaching and working on these two specific skills. As predictable, the teacher must non only be aware of this all but should also be able to choose the right material to propose to the class always bearing in mind the different levels and different interests that his/her students might have. What revealed to me the most interesting part of the lesson was the lesson plan suggested at the arms of the unit.
