This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 9 was all about lesson planning. One thought is too much lesson planning can make the class teacher-centered and no room for adjusting to the individual class and students. Then again, no planning makes it easy to get far off-subject. Therefore, a happy medium needs to be found when planning, with room for movement. The lesson should be written down briefly with a general idea what you will be discussing. Details about the activities and time-frames should also be included. The teacher might jot a few lines about the objectives for the students and himself/herself. In addition to having a structure to go by, planning lessons can stand as a record for what was discussed and learned for future references. I found this unit to be extremely helpful and will use many of the planning ideas mentioned with my own classes.
