As I progress further into this program, I am learning more about the importance of lesson planning. Knowing the information to be taught is one thing but knowing how to go about teaching it is another. One can never be too prepared with notes and an outline to follow in the class. The lesson plans are the guidelines to help keep the teacher on track with the students learning and no teacher can really teach a class successfully without some form of a plan. With that being said one must remember “even the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.†The teacher should have a plan but know that plans can change and are affected by various factors like student comprehension, how well a lesson is progressing, or many other factors. It is important for a teacher to be able to be flexible and adjust accordingly.
