This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I have learnt about different parts of speech, particularly about transitive and intransitive verbs. Knowing about this classification I can easily explain my students why we cannot say “I invite.â€, or “The bike costs.â€. I can tell them about the order of words in the sentence. For example, an adverb should be placed after the object of a transitive verb, but if there is an intransitive verb an adverb will be placed immediately after it, however, adverbs of frequency are always placed between the subject and the verb. I can explain my students why we shouldn’t say “the white, big, old horseâ€, but “the big, old, white horseâ€. I knew how to use all parts of speech, but I did it intuitively. This unit made all the rules clear for me, and this means I can make it clear for my class.
